Sundays at OEFC

What to expect

We understand that it can be difficult to come in to a church building for the first time – whether you’re new to church in general, or a regular churchgoer visiting us for the first time.

With this in mind, we want to give you an idea of what to expect from Sundays at Otford Evangelical Church. Hopefully this will help you to prepare for your visit!

Before your visit

What to wear

Some people dress up smart for church, others are more casual!

We’re pretty laid back, so dress as you feel comfortable. But if you’re unsure, then smart-casual is a good guide.

Finding Us

We’re not too difficult to find, and as you’ll see from the photo, our church name is written on the front of the building!

Our address is 81 Pilgrims Way West, Otford, TN14 5JH. You can also use this link for directions.

If you’re travelling by car, there is parking in front of the building, as well as to the rear.

If you’re planning to visit by train, we’re a little walk from Otford station, so allow at least 20 minutes.

When You Get Here

A friendly welcome

Once you’ve arrived and parked up, you can be sure to experience a friendly welcome.

One or two of our church members will be waiting in the foyer to greet you as you come in. If you have any questions or concerns, they’ll be more than happy to help.

‘The Facilities’

To avoid you having to ask ‘that question’, the toilets can be found just off of the foyer, where you came in.

If you have to pop out of the service at any point, feel free to do so.

Relaxed Meeting

From the foyer, you’ll see the main seating area. Feel free to sit wherever you want!

The service is usually led by our Pastor, Kevin. We tend to start with a prayer or a reading from the Bible. We then sing worship to God together, accompanied by a piano. We stand up to do so, but if you prefer to sit, that’s absolutely fine.

We will then have a time of teaching, where someone will take the time to share a talk on a Bible passage.

Whilst this is all going on, there’s a Crèche and Sunday School for the little ones in the church hall.

After the service

All in all, our Sunday services usually last for 60-75 minutes. We normally serve tea & coffee after our meetings. This is a chance to catch up with friends and to meet new people. But if you have to rush away, that’s ok too!
